Setup steps:

1. Install Resolve Studio 18+ and set Preferences > System > General > External scripting using to Local.
2. Install 64-bit Python 3.10 or 3.11.
3. Clone the repo, create a virtual environment and run pip install -e . as the README shows.
4. Start it with run_server.ps1 on Windows or the davinci-resolve-mcp command on macOS.
5. Add it to Claude Desktop or another MCP client and ask it to add a marker to test.

Safety notes:

* The free edition of Resolve does not expose the external scripting connection, so the server stays disconnected there.
* On Windows use a regular python.org Python and the run_server.ps1 launcher; the README warns uv managed Python builds can crash Resolve's fusionscript.dll.
* No license file was found on GitHub, so reuse terms are unknown.
* Runs locally; no API key needed for core features.
