ae-mcp (JUNKDOGE-JOE)
A CEP extension that connects a running After Effects to AI. You can chat inside the panel or connect external agents; it runs ExtendScript for general operations and native AEGP tools for exact time/object targeting, with preview and a reusable tool library.
How to set it up
- Download the latest release from the GitHub Releases page.
- Install the CEP extension and native plug-in as the README describes (it also offers a copy-paste setup prompt for your MCP client).
- Restart After Effects and open the panel.
- Connect your MCP client and run ae_status to confirm.

Safety notes
- Can run arbitrary ExtendScript inside the host app (full access to your project and, via ExtendScript, your files). Review what the agent sends.
