What it does

Gives AI agents control of Blender through about 216 typed tools (modeling, rigging, animation, materials, shader and geometry nodes, rendering, FBX/glTF/USD/Alembic export) instead of improvised Python. Each operation returns structured results and undoes with a single Ctrl+Z.

The project describes itself as: "MCP server giving AI agents complete control of Blender, modeling, rigging, animation, materials, render, export. Mirror architecture of mcp-unreal-agent."

How to set it up

  1. Install Node.js 18 or later and Blender 4.2 or later
  2. Paste the install prompt from the README into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, opencode or Claude Desktop; it adds npx -y @pobruno/blender-agent@latest to your MCP config
  3. Install the BlenderAgent.zip addon it points you to from Blender's Add-ons settings
  4. Restart your agent and ask it to build or change a scene

This is a plain English summary of the project's own instructions. Commands and versions change, so always follow the current README at the source link

Safety notes

  • Not affiliated with the Blender Foundation
  • Your agent edits its own MCP config and instruction files during install, and the README tells it to ask before anything destructive

General rule: open a duplicate of your project before letting any agent make changes, and read what a script does before approving it
