What it does

An open-source editing engine your agent drives: you bring photos, footage and music and the agent builds a finished edit with cuts, transitions, motion typography, 3D scenes and sound. It has 72 CLI and MCP tools, a Studio for hands-on review, and ComfyUI apps.

The project describes itself as: "Agent-driven video editing with Studio, ComfyUI Apps, CLI and MCP. Turn photos, footage and music into finished edits."

How to set it up

  1. Install Python 3.11 or later, Git and FFmpeg
  2. Clone the repo and run python scripts/setup.py
  3. Or paste the setup prompt from the README into Claude Code or Codex and let it do the install
  4. Optional: follow docs/AGENT_INTERFACE.md to add the MCP server, or install the openkatana nodes in ComfyUI

This is a plain English summary of the project's own instructions. Commands and versions change, so always follow the current README at the source link

Safety notes

  • Free to use locally; optional paid cloud models cost extra
  • Claude Code and Codex are the tested agents
  • Not affiliated with Higgsfield (inspired by its Katana)
  • Version 0.1.1, created Oct 2026

General rule: open a duplicate of your project before letting any agent make changes, and read what a script does before approving it
