  • Burn captions into every Short in a folder with one request, then check the first one before running the rest
  • Ask the agent to keep captions away from faces and screen content, the way you would brief a junior editor
  • Give the agent shot rules: full screen face for punchlines, split screen for explanations, screen capture when the screen matters

What it does

Submagic's own hosted MCP server. Your agent can create caption projects from a video link, make Magic Clips from YouTube videos, add music, export, and publish or schedule to social accounts

How to set it up

  1. Create an API key in Submagic under account settings, API tab
  2. Run claude mcp add --transport http submagic https://api.submagic.co/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $SUBMAGIC_API_KEY"
  3. Ask it to caption a video from a link, then check the project in Submagic

Safety notes

  • Keep the API key in your MCP config or an environment variable, never in a prompt or a shared file
  • It can publish to TikTok, Instagram and other connected accounts, so read the plan before you say go
